260. Lt. Nathaniel SOUTHWORTH^8,261 was born in May 1648 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.⁸ He died on 14 January 1711 at the age of 62 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.⁸ He was buried in Nemasket Cemetery, Middleborough, Plymouth, MA.⁸ Nathaniel Southworth was elected Constable of Plymouth on June 5, 1678, and remained there until after all his children were born. At some point thereafter, he moved to Middleborough. By 1708 he was definitely "of Middleborough." He was a Lieutenant in the Massachusetts Militia. He was surveyor of highways in Plymouth in 1673 and was fined in 1675 10 s for refusing to aid the constable in the execution of his office. He was selectman for Plymouth, 1689 and 1691. He owned land in Tiverton, R.I. For many years the Southworth family owned large tracts of land in MIddleboro; some of the richest and most valuable land in that town belonging to them.

The descendants of Nathaniel Southworth and Desire Gray are Mayflower descendants through Desire (Mary Winslow, Mary Chilton, James Chilton). Desire GRAY and Lt. Nathaniel SOUTHWORTH were married on 2 November 1667. They were married on 10 January 1671 in Plymouth, MA.²⁶²

261. Desire GRAY²⁶³ was born on 6 November 1651 in Plymouth, MA.⁸ She died on 4 December 1690 at the age of 39 in Plymouth, MA.⁸ For more information, see Mayflower Families through Five Generations, Vol. 15, James Chilton, p. 35-36.

130	i.	Capt. Nathaniel SOUTHWORTH.
	ii.	Constant SOUTHWORTH⁸ was born on 12 August 1674.⁸ He died before 1705 at the age of 31 in Tiverton, now RI.⁸ He was a carpenter. In 1694, he was in Tiverton. He died unmarried, since his will left everything to his brothers and sisters.
	iii.	Mary SOUTHWORTH⁸ was born on 3 April 1676 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.⁸ She died on 2 February 1757 at the age of 80 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.²⁶⁴
	iv.	Capt. Ichabod SOUTHWORTH was born in March 1678.⁸ He died on 20 September 1757 at the age of 79 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.
	v.	Elizabeth SOUTHWORTH⁸ was born in 1687.⁸
	vi.	Edward SOUTHWORTH⁸ was born before 1690 in Plymouth, MA.⁸ He died on 26 April 1749 at the age of 59 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.
