28. Capt. Martin BENNETT⁶⁹ was born on 22 September 1788 in Sandwich, MA. He died on 7 September 1835 at the age of 46 in At sea en route from Savannah to Liverpool. 29. Eliza T. BUTTS was born in 1787 in Sandwich, MA. She died on 19 August 1854 at the age of 67 in Bristol, RI. She was buried in Old North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI. Her name is listed as Elizabeth Butts, p. 566, Genealogies of RI Families (sons and daughters of Newport).

14	i.	Capt. Albert Coggeshall BENNETT.
	ii.	Martin BENNETT Jr. was born on 18 November 1811 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. He died on 7 December 1891 at the age of 80 in Bristol, RI. He was cashier of the First National Bank of Bristol for 24 years. He was grand marshal of the 4th of July Parade for several years. Martin joined the First Church of Bristol July 3, 1842, with his brother, Messadore, and his wife, Martha. He was somewhat taller than his brother Messadore, conservative in appearance, quiet and unassuming, and always dependable. The First National Bank was paying its stockholders 7 1/2% interest in the days when he was cashier. His gravestone says he was born January 28, 1812. The gravestone is located directly south of Mary Eddy Leonard Healey (Leonard monument).
	iii.	Messadore Toscan BENNETT was born on 20 November 1815 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. He died on 3 July 1890 at the age of 74 in Bristol, RI. He was a leading businessman and manufacturer in Bristol. From "Sketches of Old Bristol:" "Among the notable personages who come to mind is Messadore T. Bennett, who presided over our town meetings for so many years. He was a man of medium height, dignified in bearing. His 'Dundreary' whiskers gave him a most distinguished appearance. His manner was cordial and kindly. He was a devoted member of the Congregational Church, and at one time was superintendent of the Sabbath school." His father named him Messadore out of respect for an Italian officer he knew by that name.
	iv.	Elizabeth R. BENNETT was born on 20 September 1818 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. She died on 10 August 1883 at the age of 64 in Bristol, RI.
	v.	Sally Butts BENNETT was born on 18 August 1820 in Bristol, RI.
	vi.	Benjamin Perry BENNETT was born on 7 July 1822 in Bristol, RI. He died on 23 July 1883 at the age of 61 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. They lived in Newport, where he was a cabinet maker. In the 1880 Census, he was listed as a furniture dealer, and his daughter Annie, 34, was living at home.
	vii.	William Henry BENNETT was born on 21 August 1824 in Bristol, RI. He died in 1895 at the age of 71. He was unmarried.
	viii.	Adams Jefferson BENNETT was born on 8 July 1826. He died on 30 March 1863 at the age of 36 in Baltimore, Baltimore Co., MD. He died in Baltimore as a result of wounds suffered in the battle of Fredericksburg. He had one son, name unknown.
	ix.	Mary Ann BENNETT was born on 28 June 1835.
