149. David LEONARD⁴⁵ was born on 30 July 1747 in Hardwick, Worcester Co., MA. He died on 28 August 1831 at the age of 84 in Orwell, Rutland Co., VT. At the time of his marriage, he was living in "No. 5," Cummington. In 1784 he removed to Shaftsbury and subsequently to Orwell, VT. He set up the first grist and saw mills in Shaftsbury. When the town was organized in 1787, he was appointed town clerk.

David LEONARD and Hannah WHIPPLE were married on 15 February 1773 in Hardwick, Worcester Co., MA. Hannah WHIPPLE was born in 1751. She died on 11 February 1825 at the age of 74 in Orwell, Addison Co., VT.

David LEONARD and Hannah WHIPPLE had the following children:

427	iv.	Fanny LEONARD¹¹³ was born in 1780 in Hardwick, MA. She died on 3 July 1817 at the age of 37.

430	vii.	William LEONARD¹¹³ was born in 1788 in Orwell, VT. He died on 12 November 1815 at the age of 27 in Orwell, VT.
