He moved to Hancock, NY, where he was located in the 1850 Census. By then he had married Ann White. The family was still living in Hancock in the 1860 Census. Asher was a farmer. In the 1870 Census, Asher was still farming. Charlotte, Albert, Frederick, and Salvus were still at home.

Asher LEONARD and Mary GATES were married about 1813 in MA. Mary GATES, daughter of Micah GATES and Mary , was born on 22 March 1795 in Palmer, MA.
