Reuben sold the land for a fat profit on 13 June 1834 and moved to Brantford. From Ontario Archives, Court of Probate, RG22-MS658-reel 54 Matilda Leonard of the village of Brantford, widow, petitioned on 25 Jan 1837, stating that her husband, Reuben Leonard, merchant of Brantford, died intestate in December 1836, leaving her and five children. Requests letters of administration to her late husband's estate. Permission granted. Reuben LEONARD and Julia Ann Matilda WELLS were married in 1822 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Julia Ann Matilda WELLS was born on 12 May 1801 in Athens, Greene Co., NY. She died on 22 December 1825 at the age of 24 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
