of Capt. Philip LEONARD and Mary RICHMOND) was born in 1739. She
died on 17 Apr 1817. ECL says Capt. Philip's oldest daughter married
"Old Lawyer Leonard's"oldest son for his second wife. They had two
sons, Big Tom as he wascalled, a solid old fellow who lived on the paternal farm,
and Rev.George Leonard, who was first an orthodox minister and preached inConnecticut
but soon left there and afterward became an Episcopalian andsettled over two
parishes in Vermont. He married late and died soonafter without issue. Big
