101. Rev. Nathaniel LEONARD162 died on 11 Jun 1761 in Norton, Bristol, MA. He was born 9 MAR 1699/00 in Norton, Bristol, MA.107 Harvard Grad. 1719. Ordained at First Church, Plymouth and served aspastor there from 1724 to 1754. "He was a gentleman more inclined to theactive than the studious life, but should be remember for his usefulservices as a minister, and for his exemplary life and conversation."(Thacher's History Plymouth, p. 280).

The descendants of this couple have a Mayflower descendancy throughNathaniel's mother, Anna Tisdale, her mother Hanna Rogers, to thelatter's father, John Rogers, to Thomas Rogers, Mayflower Pilgrim.

ECL: "This family presents a shining example of who the Revolutionseparated families in their allegiances. Of the children, George andPriscilla were Loyalist in Boston while their brother Abiel was chaplainto the Connecticut troops under Washington. He was the one who preachedthe Evacuation Day sermon in the present Christ Church edifice inCambridgte before Washington and his officers. George furnished sever ofthe ships that carried Lord Howe and the British to Halifax."
