258. Deacon, Elder, Capt. Henry HODGES¹⁸² was born in 1652 in Duxbury, MA.⁸ He died on 30 September 1717 at the age of 65 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA.²⁵⁸ He was buried in Neck of Land Burying Ground, Taunton, MA. He was the presiding elder of the church. He owned much real estate. He served as a member of the town couscil, selectman, and representative to the general court. He was also a shareholder in the first Taunton iron works. Esther GALLOP and Deacon, Elder, Capt. Henry HODGES were married on 17 December 1674 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.^8,239

259. Esther GALLOP^8,239 was born on 21 July 1653 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.⁸ She died in 1710 at the age of 57 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA.⁸

	ii.	Esther HODGES⁸ was born on 17 February 1677 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. She was born on 17 February 1678 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. She died in February 1760 at the age of 83 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.
	iii.	William HODGES⁸ was born on 18 March 1680.⁸

	v.	John HODGES²⁵⁹ was born in 1684 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He died in 1759 at the age of 75 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA.
	vi.	Lt. Henry HODGES²⁶⁰ was born in 1685 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He died on 18 September 1755 at the age of 70 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He lived on the Providence road, about 3 and one-half miles from the Green. He was a farmer, selectman 1731-35, 37-39.
	vii.	Joseph HODGES²⁶⁰ was born in 1688 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He died in 1745 at the age of 57 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.
	viii.	Benjamin HODGES was born in 1691. He died in 1754 at the age of 63. Benjamin and Abiah had 5 children: Abigail Hodges, Abiah Hodges, Anna Hodges, Rachel Hodges, and Ephraim Hodges.
