Tenth Generation

792. Wlliam BLANTON was born on 16 April 1611 in Upton on Severn, Worcestershire, England. He died on 15 June 1662 at the age of 51 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA. He was deprived of citizenship and driven from England by the Catholics. He emigrated from Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, in 1639. He owned a share in the Taunton ironworks (Leonard's) and may have worked there, perhaps as a carpenter.

A William Blanton was enjoined December 4, 1638, from using a canoe as a ferry, after three men drowned (Mass. Bay Records, Vol. 1, p. 246.).

He was also referred to as William Blantine and Blanding. His sons agreeded to adopt the name, Blanding. Phebe HICKS and Wlliam BLANTON were married before 1642 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.222

793. Phebe HICKS was born in 1615. She died on 22 May 1663 at the age of 48 in Massachusetts. There is a great possibility of confusion between this Phebe Hicks and the Phebe Hicks who married a Watson. The latter was the daughter of Robert Hicks, while the former was the daughter of Thomas Hicks.
