1408. Anthony SLOCUM died in 1675. Anthony was one of the 46 "first and ancient purchasers" in 1637 of the territory of Cohannet, which was incorporated March 3, 1639, with the name of Taunton. In 1662 he moved to Dartmouth, which was incorporated in 1664 in the area of the Pascamanset River (Slocum's River). He was killed in 1675 in King Philip's War.

	iv.	John SLOCUM was born in 1642 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He died in February 1651 at the age of 9 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He died at age 9. He went with a group gathering cranberries at Fowling Pond, fell behind his companions about a mile from his house, and got lost, ultimately perishing.
