47. George REDCHESTER was born on 1 December 1801 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.³¹ He was christened on 3 January 1803 in Cathedral St. Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He died on 3 February 1865 at the age of 63 in St. Philip, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. His occupation was listed as scissor smith in the 1841 Census. The family lived on Bowling Green Street, St. George, Sheffield, at that time. He was living there with his wife Mary, 40, son John, 20, and daughter Ann, 15. George's sister-in-law, Elizabeth Elliott, 40, was living with them.

In the 1851 Census, he and his wife and 3 grandchildren were living at 60 (or 126?) Trinity Street, Moorfield, Sheffield. The grandchildren were Henry Biggin Regester, Herbert Thomas Regester, and Mary Jane Frisk or Frish. He was a scissorsmith. Henry and Herbert were sons of George's son, John, who was living with his wife, Ann Biggin Register, with her mother, Mary Hammond, 52, at 8 Wentworth Street, Nether Hallam, St. Philips, Sheffield. George's sister-in-law, Elizabeth Elliott, 52, was living with them.

After his wife Mary died in 1852, he married Ann Powles.

Mary was born in 1800. She died on 19 September 1852 at the age of 52 in St. Philip, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. Her occupation was listed as scissor burnisher in the 1841 Census. She was listed as 5 years older than her husband, but that may be an error.

George REDCHESTER and Mary had the following children:

She is listed as a scissor dresser living with her family on Bowling Green St. in Sheffield in the 1841 Census. In the 1851 Census, George and Mary are taking care of three grandchildren: Henry and Herbert Regester and Mary J. Frisk, 4, b. 1847. Was Mary the result of a relationship between Ann and a Frisk?
65	iii.	Charlotte REGESTER was born in 1843 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. She died on 6 August 1843 at the age of 0 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. She was buried on 6 August 1843 in St. Peter/Paul, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
66	iv.	infant REGESTER was born (date unknown).

Ann POWELLS was born (date unknown). She is listed as George's wife in the 1861 Census. She apparently brought two sons to the marriage, Robert and Joseph Powles, who were living with George and Ann at the time of the 1861 Census.
