212. Capt. Henry MUNRO was born on 28 May 1771 in Bristol, RI.³⁵ He was baptized on 29 September 1771 in St. Michael's Church, Bristol, RI. He died on 23 September 1847 at the age of 76 in Bristol, RI. He was baptized September 29, 1777.

Was his ship the sloop Mercator? There was a mortuary notice in the Rhode Island American of 6-13-1820 stating that friends of someone who died on the ship should call on Capt. Henry Munro to claim property of the deceased.

A Henry Munro underwent a debtor proceeding in June 1824 in Bristol, per notice in Providence RI American. Was it this Henry? Is there a court proceeding?

RIVR's lists a Capt. Henry Munro dying on this date in Bristol as the son of Somerset Munro and Mary Ann Munro, but then, 35 Munros are so listed.

Capt. Henry MUNRO and Phebe MUNRO were married on 2 August 1795 in Congregational Church, Bristol, RI.⁴⁹ Phebe MUNRO, daughter of Nathaniel Maxfield or MUNRO and Martha TAYLOR, was born about 1775 in Bristol, RI. She died on 17 January 1819 at the age of 44 in Bristol, RI. She was buried in Old East Burial Ground, Bristol, RI. Dorothy Chapman Saunders lists her as daughter of Nathaniel Munro or Maxfield and Martha Taylor. Check entries for Martha Taylor. The Martha Taylor who was daughter of Reuben Taylor and Avis Slocum was born January 26, 1763, at Portsmouth. This Martha Taylor had a child Lawton, father unknown, January 26, 1791 (per Arnold Collection).

Another Phebe Munro was born September 22, 1773, in Bristol, daughter of George and Abigail Lindsey Munro (RIVR). The latter were married May 21, 1769 by Rev. John Burt. Phebe, the wife of Capt. Henry Munro, died June 17, 1819, age 44 (born abt. 1774). The Munroe Book by Jean P. Guildford, Franklin, NC: Genealogy Publishing Service, 1993 says that Phebe, daughter of George and Abigail, died January 6, 1862, in Bristol, unmarried, p. 316.

The age at her death is variously given as 43 and 48.
