101. Philip Henry KELLS²² was born on 22 April 1817 in Churchtown, Columbia Co., NY. He died in 1890 at the age of 73 in Churchtown, Columbia Co., NY. He was buried in St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Churchtown, Columbia County, NY. In the 1850 Census, they were living in Claverack, where Philip was a shoemaker. In the 1860 Census, they were living in Churchtown, where Philip was a shoemaker. The 1860 Census lists all of the children of Philip and Jane. In the 1870 Census, he's still a shoemaker. Only sons Walter and Charles still at home. 1871 Columbia Co. Directory has him in Churchtown, shoemaker/farmer, 2 acres. Be careful not to mix up this Philip H. and the Philip H. who married Charlotte Sheldon!

Philip and Jane had a family cemetery plot where they and some of their children are buried.

Philip Henry KELLS and Jane HOBBIE were married on 15 August 1840 in Greenport, NY.⁸² Jane HOBBIE was born in 1822. She died in 1904 at the age of 82. She was buried in St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Churchtown, Columbia County, NY. Burial and stone has Jane Hobbie vice Hovey. Some records give his wife as Jane Hovey. Was she from Greensport?
