18. John H. KELLS³³ was born on 14 October 1797 in Churchtown, Columbia Co., NY. He died in March 1833 at the age of 35. He was buried in St. Thomas Lutheran Cemetery, Churchtown, NY. Baptismal sponsors were John and Elizabeth Kells. He was baptized 19 November 1797 in the Dutch Reformed Church, Claverack. His baptismal name was Johannes. NYG&B Review 83:180.

John H. KELLS and Mary LAPE were married in 1820. Mary LAPE, daughter of Thomas Lowe LAPE and Maria BATZ, was born on 15 August 1795 in Churchtown, Columbia Co, NY. There were Lapes in the area: Samuel of Sand Lake m. Catherine Hodd, Aug. 23, 1851; George T. Lape m. Harrie P. Schear, Sept. 12, 1878; Thomas m. Lucy Ham April 1879. 1850 Census: John, 50, Eva, 45, Thomas 17, Lurbina 20, Elizabeth 13. No Lisk, no Howland. List of deaths include no K's or L's (pages missing?). George Lape d. 1852, 66 years (b. 1786?) w. Charity, d. 1862, 79 years (b. 1783?), George C. d 1857 31 yrs., Jacob d. 1881 70 yrs., w. Anna M. Sliter d. 1890 74 yrs., Cornelia d. 1844 6 mos., John L. Poyner 1840-1919 w. Martha A. Lape 1845-1932, Woodlawn Cemetery, East Schodack. Lots of Boyces in that cemetery as well. Also John H. Kells.

Did she marry William Westfall 24 Mar 1838 in the Dutch Reformed Church in Nassau, Renssalaer Co.? This Jane Ann Kells was buried in Sand Hill, Renssalaer Co. Her sponsors were Thomas Lape and wife, Lena Miller.
