149. Maude L. KELLS was born about 1865 in Hudson, Columbia Co., NY. She died on 18 December 1942 at the age of 77 in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH. The 1880 Census lists her as Maud L. Kells. It's definitely an "L."

She was 20 when they married. Image of record not available on Internet. Page 66, Vol. 361. A Maud L. Kells was born March 1885 in Pittsfield.

She is listed as a nurse from Sheffield in the soldiers of the Great War (World War I) from Massachusetts -- "Soldiers of the Great War," Volume 2, page 34. There may have been a Maud Victoria Kells b. in 1889 in Sheffield, MA, vol. 384, page 84, image not available to check.

She was listed as Miss Maud Kells and living in Detroit, MI, in the Pittsfield Evening Sun's obituary for her father in 1909.

Maude L. KELLS and Edward W. SMITH were married on 30 June 1885 in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., MA.100 Edward W. SMITH, son of Samuel J. SMITH and Elizabeth E. MARTIN, was born about 1859 in Oak Hills, Ohio.

Maude L. KELLS and Charles F. MEILINK were married after 1909 in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH. Charles F. MEILINK, son of Bernhard J. MEILINK and Marianne COOK, was born in April 1870 in OH. He died on 9 October 1940 at the age of 70 in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH.101 He was the owner and manager of a machine shop. He was of German or Dutch descent -- both parents from Germany in 1910 Census, from Holland and NY in the 1920 Census. In the 1920 Census, he was President of a manufacturing company. He was an inventor of safes.

Hortense MEILINK was born in February 1888 in Toleldo, Lucas Co., OH. She was listed as step daughter in the 1910 Census. She was a student at and later teacher at the Conservatory of Music in Toledo.
