420. David ASHLEY was born on 8 June 1642 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. He died on 8 December 1718 at the age of 76 in Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.116 He was buried in Old Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, MA. David was a cooper by trade, although in one reference he was called a clothier. David received a grant of land at Woronoco, now Westfield, February 8, 1663-64, on condition that he and the other grantees "pay the Indians for their purchase within three years and that they go there to dwell." He and Joseph Whiting received Sacketts Creek in March 1669 "to set a mill thereon and grind corn." He served in a number of responsible offices in town (juror, selectman, clerk of the writs, treasurer) and was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of the Westfield Church. He died there in 1718. The five oldest children were born in Springfield, while the rest were born in Westfield. Hannah GLOVER and David ASHLEY were married in 1663 in New Haven, CT.

421. Hannah GLOVER was born in May 1646 in New Haven, CT. She died on 7 June 1722 at the age of 76 in Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.

Hannah ASHLEY was born on 14 December 1675.

Jonathan ASHLEY was born on 21 June 1678. He died in 1749 at the age of 71.

Abigail ASHLEY was born on 27 April 1681.

Mary ASHLEY was born on 3 March 1683.
