48. James HOWLAND was born on 30 June 1729 in Barnstable, Barnstable Co., MA. He died before 2 March 1790 at the age of 60 in Lenox, MA. He was buried in West Barnstable Cemetery, Barnstable, MA. He bought land in Larrabee's Grant, April 1773. Rebecca HALL and James HOWLAND were married on 21 June 1753 in Yarmouth, MA.

49. Rebecca HALL was born on 16 January 1731 in Yarmouth, MA.⁷⁰ She died on 22 May 1774 at the age of 43 in Barnstable, Barnstable Co., MA. She was buried in West Barnstable Cemetery, Barnstable, MA. She was a descendant of William Brewster. In the William Brewster Silver Book, p. 41, Rebecca Hall is listed in her mother's will.

Children were:

	i.	Abigail HOWLAND⁷¹ was born on 31 December 1754.
	ii.	Rebecca HOWLAND was born on 26 March 1757.
	iii.	Elizabeth HOWLAND was born on 11 August 1759.
	iv.	Jabez HOWLAND³⁵ was born on 25 March 1762. He was appointed administrator of his father's estate.

	vi.	Mercy HOWLAND was born on 5 August 1767.
	vii.	James HOWLAND was born on 7 August 1771.
