First Generation

1. Solomon LEONARD^1,2 was born in 1610 in Monmouthshire, England. He died on 1 May 1671 at the age of 61 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. He resided first at Plymouth in 1636, Duxbury 1637 to 1643, and finally at Bridgewater, MA, although it is postulated that he came as a servant as early as 1630 or 1631.

Also known as Goodman Leonardson. The family was intimate with the family of John Leonard in Springfield and possibly were related. So far, there has been no proof. Also, I haven't come across anything that relates him to the Thomas-James Leonard line, and, indeed, Y-DNA testing indicates they were in different haplogroups and not related.

Solomon LEONARD and Sarah CHANDLER were married about 1640 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. Sarah CHANDLER^2,3, daughter of Roger CHANDLER and Isabella CHILTON, was born before 15 October 1622 in Leyden, Holland. She died before 27 October 1675 at the age of 53 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA.
