He died on 11 October 1793 at the age of 62 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.150 He was buried in North Middleboro Cemetery, Middleboro, MA.142 A Jonathan Leonard of Middleboro bought the land that Joseph Leonard owned from Joseph Leonard of Union, NY, his son, to support Joseph's widow. This Jonathan is thought to be the stepchild of Joseph who bought his father's land from his stepbrother Joseph who had moved to NY. Plymouth Co. Probate Index 1686-1881 lists Joseph, 1793, Middleboro, Case: will, docket 12634. Will dtd. 10 Feb 1783 mentions wife Hulda, son Joseph, son Silas, son Jonathan, daughters Mary, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Hulda. Jonathan to be sole executor. Note: The descendants of Joseph and Huldah are descendants of both James (thru Huldah) and Solomon (thru Solomon) Leonard. Joseph LEONARD and Huldah DEAN were married on 31 January 1751 at Church of Christ, in Raynham, Bristol Co., MA.151 Huldah DEAN, daughter of Seth DEAN and Mary WILLIAMS, was born in 1728 in Raynham, Bristol Co., MA. She died on 13 June 1820 at the age of 92 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.152 She was buried in North Middleboro Cemetery, Middleboro, MA.142 Note that Joseph was a descendant of Solomon Leonard and that the descendants of James come through Hulda Dean, Mary Williams, and Elizabeth Leonard.
