167. Amos LEONARD120 was born on 15 March 1748 in Rutland/Oakham, MA. He died on 26 March 1825 at the age of 77 in Solon, Cortland Co., NY. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary Army, serving nearly seven years under three separate enlistments. He was not a very large man, rather light complexioned, with light hair and blue eyes, was very nervous. They were among the early settlers of Paris, Oneida Co, NY, where they resided from 1795 to 1821. He applied for a pension based on his Revolutionary War service on 1 Apr 1818 in Oneida Co., NY, at age 69. DAR Patriot Index.

Administration of his estate was granted to son Amos Leonard, Jr 14 September 1825 (CorCW W:211). Also mentioned in Harriott Leonard Standish's Leonard Dictionary and Dougherty, The Beekman Patent.

Amos LEONARD and Marcy SWEATLAND were married on 17 October 1788 in Granby, MA. Marcy SWEATLAND, daughter of John SWEATLAND, was born on 8 October 1758 in Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. She died on 23 May 1850 at the age of 91 in East Pharsalia, Chenango Co., NY. She died at the home of her daughter, Dorothy S. Brooks.
