1291. Josiah LEONARD²⁹⁷ was born on 1 May 1786 in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT. He died on 27 June 1837 at the age of 51 in Red Hook Landing, NY. In Barbour collection.

Josiah LEONARD and Ruth Buck GREGORY were married on 9 March 1815. Ruth Buck GREGORY⁴⁸⁸, daughter of Samuel GREGORY and Mehitable BUCK, was born in 1789 in Washington, CT. She died on 9 April 1876 at the age of 87 in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT.

Josiah LEONARD and Ruth Buck GREGORY had the following children:

2368	ii.	Chauncey LEONARD⁴⁸⁸ was born on 2 November 1819 in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT. He died on 17 April 1870 at the age of 50 in Preston, New London Co., CT. In the 1850 Census, he was a farmer living with his brother Charles and family in Kent, CT.
