570. George Washington LEONARD³¹⁵ was born on 8 February 1790 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. He was engaged in mercantile business in the West and South, being at one time located in New Orleans, again in South Carolina, but finally in Madison, IN. He had $50,000 worth of real estate at the time of the 1850 Census, when he was living in Madison, Jefferson Co., IN with his wife and son and daughter.

George Washington LEONARD and Sarah Tucker BAKER were married on 18 April 1821. Sarah Tucker BAKER, daughter of Ezra BAKER and Eliza TUCKER, was born on 29 August 1805 in Madison, IN. She died on 5 January 1834 at the age of 28.
