Rhoda LEONARD31 was born in 1761 in Mendham, Morris Co., NJ.171 She died on 15 May 1846 at the age of 85 in Plain City, Madison Co., OH.171 Rhoda was about age 7 when her mother died, and 8 when her father moved the family in 1769 to the dangerous frontier of SW Pennsylvantia, to an area that became Somerset twp, Washington Co, in 1781. A photo of their log house appears in Blaine Leonard's genealogy of 1933.

Luther CARY, son of Ezra CARY and Jane HOLMAN, was born on 8 July 1752 in Mendham, Morris Co., NJ.171 He died on 8 October 1834 at the age of 82 in Plain City, Canaan twp, Madison Co., OH. The family lived in Washington Co., PA, until about 1800. Soon after that, they moved to Madison Co., OH, near Plain City, which is in the far northeast corner of the county. "...In 1800 Luther and Rhoda Cary moved to Madison Co. and located on the Big Darby, on land now owned (1883) by John Stallbird, just north of Amity, in Canaan twp, where he resided until his death..."
