227. Capt. Jacob LEONARD¹⁶⁰ was born on 30 September 1757 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. He died on 12 April 1841 at the age of 83 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. He was an Ensign in the Revolutionary War and drew a pension of $20 per month. He was elected a captain in the militia after the war and was always called Capt. Jacob. His pension application says that he was an ensign in the second Massachusetts regiment commanded by Col. Ebenezer Sproat. His wife was Mary. He served the entire period of the War.

Capt. Jacob LEONARD and Mary SWIFT were married on 14 December 1788 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. Mary SWIFT, daughter of Isaac SWIFT, was born in 1759 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. She died on 8 April 1843 at the age of 84.

Capt. Jacob LEONARD and Mary SWIFT had the following children:

593	ii.	William Swift LEONARD was born on 22 April 1794 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA.¹⁴¹ He died on 13 August 1825 at the age of 31 in Windsor, Bertie Co., NC.¹⁶² He died of typhus fever.
