Barney LEONARD and Polly STOCKWELL were married on 2 September 1823 in Sutton, Worcester Co., MA.²⁹ Polly STOCKWELL, daughter of Aaron STOCKWELL and Abigail , was born on 3 May 1801 in Sutton, Worcester Co., MA. She was still living in 1848.

Barney Augustus LEONARD was born on 13 June 1825. He died on 14 May 1848 at the age of 22 in Northbridge, Worcester Co., MA.³² He was buried in South Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, MA. Sutton Death Records, Vol 41, page 334: Farmer, age 23 years, 11 months, 1 day, son of Barney and Polly Leonard. He owned a shoe shop and 2 acres of pasture at the time of his death from consumption, according to WCL. His tombstone reads B. Augustus Leonard.
