He died on 20 December 1724 at the age of 70 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.9 He owned a total of about 110 acres, including 40 acres of woodland. He was constable of Sprinfield, 1700; assessor, 1704, 1705, and 1707; selectman, 1696, 1704, and 1707; fence viewer, 1693; tithing man, 1694, 1710; and trustee, 1707. He was an iron founder, but where his bloomery was located is unknown. He owned a bull of repute, for whose use the Town paid in 1718 and 1719. His will was proved 6 April 1725. He owned quite a bit of land in Agawam Meadows and Feeding Hills, which he gave to his wife and sons John, Nathaniel, Ebenezer, Abel, and Benjamin. Abel and Benjamin each received half of the iron mill. He gave daughters Rachel and Keziah 45 pounds, as well as the same to his married daughters Sarah Ball, Margaret Ely, and Martha Ferre Jordan. His son John was his executor, and the will was dated 19 December 1724. Benjamin LEONARD and Sarah SCOTT were married on 9 February 1680 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.9 Sarah SCOTT1, daughter of John SCOTT and Sarah BLISS, was born on 19 October 1663 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.5 She died on 28 December 1744 at the age of 81 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.
