Both were killed by a raiding party of 8 Indians in King Philip's War, March 26, 1676, along with son Jabez. They were on their way to church where Jabez was to be baptised. At a Court 29 March 1676: "John Keepe of Springfield and his wife Both being slaine by ye Indians & three small children left behinde them This Court Orders Joseph Leonard and Samuel Bliss to take care of the sayd chldren & of ye estate granting powere of administration upon yet estate to sayd Joseph Leonard & Samuel Bliss Uncles to ye aforesaid children."
