1269. Emerson Dwight LEONARD¹⁰⁸ was born on 26 November 1822 in West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.³¹ In the 1850 Census, he was a farmer living with Maritt A. in Granby, Hartford Co., CT. In the 1860 Census, he was a farmer living in Victoria, Victoria Co., TX.

Emerson Dwight LEONARD and Maria RISING were married about 1850. Maria RISING was born about 1830 in CT. She was niece of his stepmother. Her name was apparently Maritt A. or Harriette.
