30. Elijah Darrow LEONARD was born in October 1834 in NY.⁷ He died on 22 April 1925 at the age of 90 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. He was buried in Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, Kenosha Co., WI. In the 1900 Census, he and his wife were living in Chicago with their daughter, Eva, and Margaret Leonard, b. April 1827, listed as a sister-in-law. She was the second wife of Elijah's father and so stepmother to Elijah. There was also a nurse, Florence Souerbry, living with them. Elijah is listed as a real estate agent. In the 1910 Census, he and his wife were living in Chicago. An Elijah Darrow Leonard died 21 April 1925 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. His obituary makes it clear that this is this Elijah D. Leonard. They had been married 47 years and had 6 children, of which only one, their daughter, was still alive. That census lists Elijah's mother as being from Rhode Island.

Elijah Darrow LEONARD and Elizabeth L. LOWE were married on 30 May 1861 in Kenosha Co., WI.⁵ Elizabeth L. LOWE⁷, daughter of John LOWE and Eleanor WEST, was born in July 1836 in Nova Scotia, Canada. She died on 15 February 1931 at the age of 94 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL.
