He bought a farm in West Needham, MA and became the author of arithmetic texts used in the Boston schools. He invented a repeating pistol and manufactured them for a time. He was Chairman, Board of Selectmen, in Shrewsbury. He died of consumption and was buried next to the lady to whom he was engaged and who died some years before him. Was he the George R.
