2431. Elijah T. LEONARD was born about 1841 in Morris Co., NJ. He died on 21 April 1899 at the age of 58 in Clinton, Essex Co., NJ. The family was living in Jersey City, Hudson Co., NJ, in the 1870 and 1880 censuses, as well as city directories through the 1890's, before moving to Newark, Essex Co., NJ. Elijah was a house painter. In Jersey City, they were living with a Matthews family.

Elijah T. LEONARD and Charlotte "Lottie" MATTHEWS were married about 1866. Charlotte "Lottie" MATTHEWS was born in 1846 in Gardnersville, Schoharie Co., NY. She died on 19 January 1900 at the age of 54 in Passaic, Passaic Co., NJ.

Elijah T. LEONARD and Charlotte "Lottie" MATTHEWS had the following children:

4149	ii.	Charles Henry LEONARD was born (date unknown).
4150	iii.	Jay LEONARD was born about 1868.
4151	iv.	William LEONARD was born about 1871.
4152	v.	Anson LEONARD was born on 20 December 1872. He died in 1915 at the age of 43 in NJ.
4153	vi.	Edson B. LEONARD was born in July 1876. In the 1900 Census, he was living with his uncle, Irving Matthews, in Passaic.
