209. John LEONARD was born on 15 July 1790. He died on 3 April 1837 at the age of 46 in Frankfort, KY.

John LEONARD and Harriet MCQUADDY were married on 6 March 1817 in Franklin Co., KY.⁵⁵ Harriet MCQUADDY was born (date unknown).

John LEONARD and Harriet MCQUADDY had the following children:

330	i.	James Francis LEONARD was born on 8 September 1824 in Frankfort, KY. He entered the telegraph office in 1844 as a messenger boy. He received messages by sound in the Frankfort office in the summer of 1848, being the first to do so. He died of typhoid fever in Columbus, MS, 29 July 1862. There is some confusion as to the year of his birth. One source had it at 1854, clearly impossible; another at 1804, also impossible. If he was the James F. Leonard working for Gooding in Louisville in the 1850 census, then he was born in 1834.
