Abraham, a Negro boy in the service of Samuel Leonard, Esq., was baptized 22 May 1749 at Christ Church, Shrewsbury, and Oliver, another Negro child in service of Samuel, was privately baptized 30 Mar 1752 at Christ Church. On 10 Mar 1790, Samuel made his will. He left 50 pounds to daughter Mary and 20 pounds to his sister Hughs (Hughes?). He left goods to daughters Mary, Lucy, and Susannah. He left real estate to his five children, viz., Mary, Deborah, Lucy, Susannah, and Samuel Leonard. Lucy Leonard died without issue while her father was still alive. Executors were daughter Deborah Holmes, Joseph Holmes, and brother-in-law Joseph Throckmorton. After their father's demise, Samuel, Mary, and Deborah Leonard sold their shares to Rev.
