20. Ira George LEONARD was born in 1813 in VT. He died in 1884 at the age of 71 in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. He was buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY. He was the Ira G. Leonard, saddler or harness maker, living with Hiram Leonard, attorney (his brother), in 1842-48 in Rochester. He was also apparently a constable (1845-46) and clerk in the County Clerk's office in 1866. He was deaf.

In the 1850 Census, he was a saddle maker living in the 8th Precinct of Rochester with his wife and daughter. In the 1860 Census, he was a saddler living with his wife and two daughters in the home of Samuel W. Moore and his son, Gilbert Moore. He married Frances Moore. Ira's sister, Rebecca, married William Henry Moore. Frances Moore's older brother was Samuel W. D. Moore, chief of Police and then Mayor of Rochester, Monroe Co., NY.

Ira George LEONARD and Frances W. MOORE were married about 1845 in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. Frances W. MOORE, daughter of William MOORE and Hannah CROCKER, was born about 1813 in NY.
