1173. James LEONARD⁵⁵¹ was born on 8 Aug 1774 in Hanover township, Morris Co., NJ.⁷⁹⁸ He died on 31 Mar 1854 in Throopsville, Cayuga Co., NY. He last lived in Cayuga Co., NY, where he brought up his family,according to the journal of Stephen Rose Leonard.

James LEONARD and Susannah CAMPFIELD were married on 17 Mar 1803 in Hanover, Morris Co., New Jersey. Susannah CAMPFIELD⁵⁵¹ (daughter of John CAMPFIELD and Mary DICKSON) was born on 25 Jul 1784 in Morristown, NJ. She died on 24 Dec 1881. James LEONARD and Susannah CAMPFIELD had the following children:

2259	i.	Stephen Campfield LEONARD551,799 was born on 25 Jul 1804 in Mentz, Cayuga Co., NY.800 He died on 20 Dec 1881 in Throop, Cayuga Co., NY.800 He died unmarried. In the 1860 Census, his household included Hannah Leonard, 36 (Stephen'ssister), Catharine, 19, and Charles A., 22 (children of Stephen'sbrother, James Madison Leonard, whose wife had died in 1841). Stephenwas a farmer. In the 1880 Census, he was living with his brother-in-law,Edgar B. Elderton (Hannah's husband) on a farm in Auburn, NY. Edgar wasdisabled, and Stephen was helping him out. Hannah had servants in 1900and 1910.
