1187. James Leonard KITCHEL was born on 14 Sep 1777 in Hanover township, Morris Co., NJ. He died about 1835 in Ottawa Lake, Monroe Co., MI. James Leonard Kitchel and his family of 8 children continued to live onMoses' home 7 acres in this ssection long after Piercy owned it. Thehome property was known as Kitchel's Corners and included the house on 3acres and a machine shop and blacksmithing area on 4 acres on the corneracross the road. The shop had been a staging area for the mil that Mosesowned on the Great Miami River and later became a gundpowder factoryknown as Kings Island that gave its name to the amusement park nowlocated on Moses Kitchel's original section. In 1817 Piercy, who hadmoved to Shelby County, Indiana, and founded the town Morristown, IN,sold the home place to James Leonard Kitchel's wife Charity Cobb Kitchel.

James Leonard KITCHEL and Charity COBB were married on 25 Jan 1799 in Morris Co., NJ. Charity COBB was born on 4 Oct 1778 in Hanover twp., Morris Co., NJ. She died in 1835 in Sylvania, Lucas Co., OH. James Leonard KITCHEL and Charity COBB had the following children:
