280. Jonathan KING117 was born on 17 Oct 1712 in Raynham, Bristol Co., MA.116 He was born on 17 Oct 1712. He died on 15 Mar 1754 in Raynham, Bristol Co., MA. Jonathan built "Kings Furnace," which stood on a stream tributary to theTaunton river on the road leading to Middleboro in the east part ofTaunton. This furnace was owned and kept in operation by the Kings about100 years. The English Parliament, when they heard theat the Americanswere engaging in Manufactures, prohibited in 1750, on penalby of twohundred pounds, "the erection of any mill for slitting or rolling iron,or any plating forge to work with a tilt hammer, or any furnace formaking steel, in any of the colonies." Jonathan KING and Phebe LEONARD were married on 22 Jun 1737 in Raynham, MA. Phebe LEONARD60 (daughter of Rev., Capt. Samuel LEONARD and Katherine DEAN) was born on 9 May 1714 in Raynham, Bristol Co., MA.194 She died on 3 Apr 1803 in Middleboro, MA. Upon the death of Elnathan Walker, she moved to Middleborough and livedwith her daughter, Phebe King Turner, wife of Rev. Caleb Turner. She waslisted as Phebe King when she married Elnathan Walker of Dighton. Jonathan KING and Phebe LEONARD had the following children:
