In the World War I draft, Robert was listed as working for the telephonecompany, living at 4436 Jackson, Chicago, with his wife. He was tall,slender, blue eyes, and light hair. In the 1920 Census, they were livingat the same address. Living with them was Dewitt Mansell, a nephew, anda couple, Richard and Susan Salter.

In the 1930 Census, the family was living in Oak Park, IL. Robert was amechanic with the telephone company. He had been naturalized in 1885.Dewitt C. Mansell was rooming with them (relative of his wife?).
