In the 1870 Census, Lester and Cynthia were living in Fairfield, LenaweeCo.,
MI. Lester was 54 and Cynthia 46. Lester was a well-to-do farmer.Lucinda, 22,
Harriet, 20, and Charles, 18, were living at home. I can'tfind an Anson Leonard
born in MI in the 1870 Census, although there is aLanson Leonard, 26, farmer,
wife Martha, 26, and daughter Florence, 8,living in Fairfield. There is no Silas
Leonard, and there is no HarrisonLeonard born in Michigan in the 1870 Census.
In the 1880 Census, Lester, 64, farmer, and Cynthia, 55, were living inFairfield.
Daughters Lucinda, 32, and Hattie, 30, were living withthem. Next door were
Anson Leonard, 35, wife Florence, 35, and daughtersFlorence, 13, and Bessie,
2. Cynthia HARTZ was born in Jul 1824 in NY.
She died in 1901 in Weston, Lenawee Co., MI. She was buried in Weston
Cemetery, Weston, Lenawee County, MI. Maiden name possibly Hare.
A Jane Hare was living with them in the 1850Census. Anson as a name runs in
the Hare family (?). Lester LEONARD and Cynthia HARTZ had the following children:

Co., MI. He died on 20 Feb 1865 in Huntsville, AL. He
died in a Civil War battle in Huntsville, AL, according to KathleenRodegeb (e-mail,
4 February 2006). He enlisted in Co. DE, 4th ReorgInfantry Regiment, Michigan,
on September 20, 1865. He apparently died20 February 1865 in Huntsville. He

LEONARD was born in 1848 in Lenawe Co., MI. She died in 1901
in Lenawee County, MI. She was buried in Weston Cemetery, Weston,
