George Abraham LEONARD2 was born in 1832 in Bristol, RI.2 He died on 24 Oct 1890 in Rhode Island.1051 He was buried in PV001 - Providence, RI. 1850 Census Records: George, a blacksmith, living with his brother, JohnH. and Ann E. Leonard, and their infant son Alfred in Providence, RI. In1867 Providence City Directory, he was listed as living at 124Westminister. His death record lists him as living at Congress Street inProvidence, a blacksmith by trade. He is listed as dying of malaria andcancer of the stomach and liver. He may have been a Civil War veteran.

George Abraham LEONARD and Emily J. THOMAS were married on 22 Jul 1851 in Providence, R.I..933 They were married on 22 Jul 1851 in Providence, RI.2 Emily J. THOMAS2 (daughter of Samuel A. THOMAS and MARY) was born in 1834 in Providence, Rhode Island. In the 1860 Census, she was living with her parents, son Henry, 8, andbrothers Joshua, 16, and James, 13, in the 4th Ward, Providence.

It appears she divorced George and married John E. Stearns/Sterns January12, 1869. John was a carpenter. In 1890 Providence City Directory, hewas living a 20 Sand St. in Providence. In the 1850 Census, Sterns was18 and working as a laborer in Cumberland. He was born in Massachusetts.

Henry LEONARD was born in 1852 in Providence, Rhode Island. A Henry Leonard, 25, son of George Leonard, died November 25, 1873.Dates don't quite match -- probably not the right Henry.

He was working as a farm laborer in Seekonk on the farm of Edwin and MarySylvester in the 1870 Census. He was born in RI. Almira Worthington,27, was also living at the farm, along with William Worthington, 12.
