4202. Walter Bradford LEONARD was born on 13 Dec 1867 in Bristol, R.I..1091 He died in 1955 in Providence, R.I.. He was buried in #617, North Burial Ground, Bristol, R.I.. In the 1880 Census, he was living with his brother-in-law, Charles W.Cross, in Providence, RI. He isn't listed in the 1900 Census, but doesappear in the 1910 Census as a fireman, living on Power Street,Providence, with his wife and daughter next to Maria F. (Leonard)Waldron and her daugher Bessie and grand-daughter Marion M. Waldron, andJohn H. Leonard, brother of Walter and Maria. Walter was also listed inthe 1910 Census at the fire station on South Main Street, Providence.

In the 1920 Census, Walter and Frances were living at 208 Power Street,Providence, with his daughter, Madeline, now married to Edward Sweeneyand grandchild Leonard Sweeney. Walter was a captain in the firedepartment.

In the 1930 Census, he is listed as living on Colonial Road inProvidence, RI, a foreman in a coal yard. His wife Fannie was also 61and was born in VT, as were her parents.

My grandfather, Walter B. Leonard, styled himself Walter B. Leonard II or2nd. When I asked him about it, he said there was another Walter B.Leonard in Providence, a deputy fire chief, and he used the "2nd" so thatmail would not get mixed up. He never mentioned that the other Walterwas his uncle.

Walter is buried in the plot with his father and mother, next to hisbrother, John H. Leonard. His wife does not appear to be buried there.

Walter Bradford LEONARD and Frances L. TEMPLE were married on 24 Nov 1892. Frances L. TEMPLE was born in 1869. Walter Bradford LEONARD and Frances L. TEMPLE had the following children:
