892. Robert CARR³⁷⁵ was born on 6 October 1614 in London, England. He died before 4 October 1681 at the age of 66 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. He came to America with his brother, Caleb, on the "Elizabeth and Ann" or "Hopewell" in June 1635. He was a tailor by trade. He was admitted as an inhabitant of Portsmouth February 21, 1639. He was admitted as a freeman of Newport March 16, 1641. He was one of the original purchasers of Conanicut (Jamestown) Island from the Indians. In 1670 and 1671 his sloop served as ferry between Newport and Jamestown. Elizabeth LAWTON and Robert CARR were married before 1640 in Portsmouth or Newport, RI.²²²

893. Elizabeth LAWTON died in 1680 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI. She was born Abt 1630?.

Children were:

	i.	Elizabeth CARR was born in 1651 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. She died on 8 December 1697 at the age of 46 in Newport, Newport Co., RI.

	iii.	Caleb CARR was born on 23 August 1657 in Newport. He died before 3 March 1690 at the age of 32 in Jamestown, RI. They had seven children. Or did he marry Deborah Sayles?

	v.	Elizabeth CARR was born in 1670.
