He was a cooper by trade. He was granted permission by Plymouth Colony to settle in Plymouth or elsewhere on April 2, 1638. He was granted an island of three or four acres. He eventually settled in Marshfield. In 1644 he was fined for speaking against the Indians. Ursula COOPER and William MACOMBER were married on 16 January 1634 in St. Mary's, Bridport, Dorset, England.

1905. Ursula COOPER was born in 1618 in Buccklesham, Norwich, Suffolk, England. She died in 1675 at the age of 57 in Marshfield, Plymouth Co., MA.

	ii.	John MACOMBER⁴⁴⁰ was born in 1640 in Marshfield, Plymouth Co., MA. He died in 1718 at the age of 78 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He was called John Macomber the cooper to distinguish him from others of the same name. He served in King William's war in 1691. His wife received part of her father's estate in 1684.
	iii.	Sarah MACOMBER³⁸⁷ was born about 1645.
	iv.	Hannah MACOMBER³⁸⁷ was born in 1652.
	v.	Ursula MACOMBER³⁸⁷ was born in 1653.
	vi.	Thomas MACOMBER³⁸⁷ was born (date unknown).
