632. Benedict ARNOLD was born on 21 December 1615 in Lemington, Somerset, England. He died on 19 June 1678 at the age of 62 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. He was buried in Burial Ground, Newport, RI. He arrived on a ship from England that left Dartmouth, Devon, on 1 May 1635 and arrived in New England 24 June 1635. The Westcott family was on the same ship. Benedict, then 20, later married Damaris Westcott, then 15.

Benedict Arnold served as Governor of Rhode Island 1663-1666, 1669-1672, and 1677-78. There is a plaque erected for him in the Governor Arnold Burying Ground in Newport. Damaris WESTCOTT and Benedict ARNOLD were married on 17 December 1640.

633. Damaris WESTCOTT³⁴⁶ was born in 1620 in Yeovil, Somerset, England. She died after 1678 at the age of 58 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. She was buried in Burial Ground, Newport, RI.

	iii.	Josiah ARNOLD was born on 22 December 1646 in RI. He died after 1721 at the age of 75 in RI.
	iv.	Damaris ARNOLD was born on 23 February 1648 in RI.
	v.	William ARNOLD was born on 21 October 1651. He died on 23 October 1651 at the age of 0.
	vi.	Penelope ARNOLD was born on 10 February 1653.
	vii.	Oliver ARNOLD was born on 25 July 1655. He died on 6 November 1697 at the age of 42.
	viii.	Godsgift ARNOLD was born on 27 October 1658. She died on 23 April 1691 at the age of 32.
	ix.	Freelove ARNOLD was born on 20 July 1661. She died on 8 September 1711 at the age of 50.
