William TORREY422,423 was born on 21 December 1608 in Combe St. Nicholas, Somersetshire, England. He was baptized on 21 December 1608 in Combe St. Nicholas, Somerset, England. He died on 10 June 1690 at the age of 81 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., MA. William came to New England in 1640 with his son Samuel and brother Philip (NEHGS Reg 154:63). He was elected a member of the Royal Articllery of Boston and soon thereafter appointed a lieutenant. He became a captain in 1655. He was a deputy to the General Court from 1642 to 1650.

Joseph TORREY424 was born before 21 June 1621 in Combe St. Nicholas, Somerset, England. He died before 24 December 1677 at the age of 56 in Newport, Newport Co., RI. He settled first in Weymouth after arriving in 1640, then moved to Rehoboth in 1644, and after 1650 moved to Newport. He was attorney general of RI in 1671. He also served as a lieutenant in the militia and was for 7 year General Recorder of RI.
