Eleventh Generation

1104. Roger CONANT⁴⁰⁹ was born before 9 April 1592 in East Budleigh, Devonshire, England. He died on 19 November 1679 at the age of 87 in Beverly, Essex Co. MA. He came from London to Plymouth in 1623 on the "Ann," moved to Nantasket in 1624, to Cape Ann in 1625, to Salem in 1626, and finally to Beverly. He was a salter by trade and apparently a citizen of London before he came to America. One source lists him as "First Governor of Massachusetts," as he was appointed governor or superintendent of the Dorchester project. He was governor until the arrival of John Endicott in 1628. His grandfather John was said to be of French (Norman) extraction. His ancestors for many generations had been at Gittisham, between Honiton and Ottery St. Mary's.

1105. Sarah HORTON was born on 19 September 1600 in Budleigh, Devon, England. She died in 1667 at the age of 67 in Beverly, Essex Co. MA.

	iii.	Caleb CONANT was born before 27 May 1622 in St. Lawrence Jewry, London, England. He died before 11 November 1633 at the age of 11.
	iv.	Sarah CONANT was born about 1623.
	v.	Joana CONANT was born about 1626.
	vi.	Roger CONANT was born about 1628.
	vii.	Joshua CONANT was born about 1630.
	viii.	Mary CONANT was born about 1632.
	ix.	Elizabeth CONANT was born about 1635.
	x.	Exercise CONANT was born before 24 December 1637 in Salem, Essex Co., MA.
