127. Lawrence William REGESTER was born on 31 January 1892 in Providence, RI.48 He died on 21 November 1972 at the age of 80 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. When he registered for the World War I draft on June 5, 1917, he was living with his wife and two children at 22 Warren Avenue, Providence, RI. He was clerk working at Belcher and Loomis at 91 Weybosset Street in Providence. He was short, of slender build, with gray eyes, and black hair.

In the 1920 Census, he was living at 111 No. Davis Street in Providence with a Russian Jewish family headed by Abraham Demond. He was a salesman at a hardware store.

Lawrence and wife Abigail M. were living in Swampscott, MA, at the time of the 1930 Census with a stepson, Theodore Cowper, 25, a boat steward. Lawrence was a paint salesman.

A Muriel G. Regester, dau. of Lawrence W. and Bertha G. Regester, d. 2 Oct 1919, 6 days old.

The IGI lists Lawrence's place of birth as Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, but this is just plain wrong. Both his parents were living in East Providence, Rhode Island, at that time.

Abigail Marston DELANO was born on 26 November 1884 in Everett, Middlesex Co., MA. She died about 1955 at the age of 71 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Malcolm Stewart REGESTER was born about 1915. He was a Cab driver in Westerly, then moved to NH. The 1920 Census lists a Malcom E. Regester, age 4 10/12, living in Westerly, RI, with his grandparents, Charles E, 47, and Rose E., 40, Noyes. Same in 1930. Noyes was a laborer with the sewer department. Was Dorothy their daughter?

In the 1938 Middletown, CT, city directory he was listed as a route salesman in Hartford and had a residence at the rear of 47 South Main, Middletown. In the 1948 Westerly City directory, he is listed with wife Dorothy at 42 Margin, employed as a caretaker.
