4. William MUNRO was born in 1668. He was born in 1673. He died on 26 April 1746 at the age of 78 in Bristol, RI. William was buried in Munro lot on the Neck, Bristol, RI. His long will dtd. April 16, 1746, appears in TAG (TAG 42:82-86). He first appears in Bristol in 1698. He was a major and a vestryman in St. Michael's Church in Bristol. All his children were born in Bristol. He was appointed rate maker at the first town meeting of Bristol in 1746. He was a major in the militia and a vestryman of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. He was a slave holder, as evidenced in his will.

William MUNRO and Mary LINDSEY were married before 27 July 1702 in Lynn, Essex Co., MA. Mary LINDSEY, daughter of John LINDSEY and Mary ALLEY, was born on 28 November 1677 in Lynn, Essex Co., MA. She died on 8 November 1760 at the age of 82 in Bristol, RI.9 The Lindseys were also of Scottish origin. John, son of John, married William's sister Elizabeth.
