In the 1860 Census, Emily and her son were living with her father and mother, Samuel and Mary Thomas, in Ward 4, Providence. THOMAS and MARY, was born in 1834 in Providence, RI. In the 1860 Census, she was living with her parents, son Henry, 8, and brothers Joshua, 16, and James, 13, in the 4th Ward, Providence. She was a tailoress. It appears she divorced George and married John E. Stearns/Sterns January 12, 1869. John was a carpenter. In 1890 Providence City Directory, he was living a 20 Sand St. in Providence. In the 1850 Census, Sterns was 18 and working as a laborer in Cumberland. He was born in Massachusetts.
