8. William REGESTER11 was born about 1819 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He died in 1893 at the age of 74 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He was listed as a stone grate filer in the 1841 Census. Wife is listed as Jane. Family was living in Brightside Bierlow. Ages don't quite match. Charles W. was born while William and Charlotte were living at Snow Lane in the Crofts District of Sheffield. None of the family were listed in the 1851 Sheffield Census, the suspicion being they moved to Derby for economic reasons and moved back before Eliza's death in 1854. After returning to Sheffield, William worked as a steel burnisher.

Charles William Regester of this line was born in 1840 while William and Charlotte were living at Snow Lane in the Crofts District. Charles William is listed as William, 6 mos. Other families living nearby: Thomas Pawlis, Thomas Tomlinson.

The 1861 Census shows William and Charlotte, their children Edward, Walter, Charles W. and his wife Harriet and their son Ernest William all living a 22 court, house no. 1, Ebenezer St., Sheffield, where William was a steel burnisher and Charles was a silver chaser.

In the 1871 Census, William and Charlotte were living on Ebenezer St., St. Philip's Parish, Sheffield. Son Walter was living at home and was a groom. The 1891 Census has Charlotte and William living at 134 Arundel Street, Sheffield and was listed as a steel blade finisher. Their son Edward was living with them. In researching parish registers before 1837, John Register found that the name was spelled Redchester. In the 1891 Census, William spelled his name Register.

A William Regester, 76, died in Sheffield in the 4th quarter of 1893 (Vol. 9c, page 331).

There's a loose end line: in the 1891 Census, Tom Regester, 38, head, Elizabeth, 34, wife, Annie, 9, Arthur, 8, Wilfred, 3, and Alfred, 10 mos., were living in Brightside Bierlow.

9. Charlotte BOWER was born before 17 August 1818 in Bradfield, Yorkshire, England. She died after March 1893 at the age of 74 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. She was christened August 17, 1818 (IGI #6909557).

A Charlotte Regester died in Ecclesall Bierlow in the 2nd quarter of 1876 (vol. 9c, page 201).

Edward REGESTER was born in 1848 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He died in March 1916 at the age of 68 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. At the 1881 Census, he was living at 126 Arundel Street, St. Peter's,Sheffield, a hammer forger, 30, with a housekeeper, Olive Stevenson, 50, and her daughter, Marsha, 20. Note age -- not born in 1848. He doesn't appear in other censuses.

At the 1891 Census, he was living with his parents at 134 Arundel Street, St. Peter's, Sheffield. He was a hammer maker. In the 1911 Census, he was single, living with the Hardy family at 26 Cumberland St., Ecclesall Broomhall, Sheffield, and was a general laborer.

Walter REGISTER was born in 1852 in Derby, England. He died in 1890 at the age of 38 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He was buried on 6 August 1890 in City Road Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He was a cab driver in the 1880's until he died. He was 39 when he died at 8 Ct. 10 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield.
